Good or Bad, call me a creature of habit. Unfortunately, in this particular instance it is a bad habit. I have never viewed technology all that favorably. “No school like the oldschool,” I always say. Explains why I run an old-world style tobacco shop. Also explains (but does not excuse) the ridiculous lapses in my updates. Well that and the fact that I am the cashier, stocker, orderer, manager, bill-payer (ew), and bookkeeper (also ew) all rolled into one. Time can run out quickly, and Blogs tend to take a back seat. And for that I am sorry. But, today I am making up for it…at least a start.
Today feels like a Pipe day. Where do I start….Ah yes, one of my favorite brands of all time: Big Ben. They are not inexpensive. But they are soooo worth it. As a guy who owns 3 himself, trust me. These beauties are tasty. Observe:
Next on the agenda is a brand new line from a Fredrico Rovera, a brand that is a perennial favorite here at the Bulldog. I give you the Snow Mountain Series!
Not to be outdone, Fe.ro’s Italian cousin, Rigoletto makes a fine showing in our display cases. And an even finer showing when full of lit tobacco.
Of course, we have added a fresh batch of Meerschaum pipes as well. We’re only showing a fraction of what awaits you in the shop. A wide range of designs, shapes, sizes, and budgets are available for the lover of a cool smoke.
Naturally, once you have a quality pipe, you’ll need some excellent tobacco to pair with it. Behold, a few of our newer offerings of late. each stand on a mountain of merit, worthy of your consideration.
+ Looking to take a step into the lovely world of Virginia tobacco? Mac Baren Modern VA provides a light experience and an excellent stepping stone into something great.
+ Old Dark Fired, also from Mac Baren, is a wonderful balance of earthy, sweet, toasty, and savory. It has a full body complemented by a manageable medium strength profile. Rub it, cut it, strip, or fold it…either way this flake tobacco offering satisfies.
+ We recently added three new Signature lines from Peterson: 2014 Summertime, 2014 Limited Edition, 2014 Holiday Season. These aromatics each carry distinct notes and qualities worth consideration on your next visit. We are particularly fond of Summertime, given the season.
+ W.O. Larsen put out an excellent subtle but complex blend in the 2015 edition. If the ingredients “white rose petal” & “Pomegranate” pique your interest, check it out. Balkan Sasieni is a must have for everyday lovers of a good ol’ Balkan blend. No muss, no fuss, just quality.
That’s it for the moment. Next post, we’ll highlight some of our newest cigar facings. Until then, keep on smokin’.
